The Followell Story

This is the story of an adventurous family who migrated to America in the 1600s from England seeking the promise of freedom and prosperity.  They quickly assimilated and became part of the early pioneering migration westword into America's heartland.  Their American journey started with John Followell in Fincastle Virginia with stops in Kentucky, Indiana, Central Illinois, and finally Southern Illinois.  The Followell family was among the first pioneering settlers in the wilderness of Kentucky and Indiana.  They were tough people searching for a better life and were willing to take enormous risks to achieve their goals.

The story starts with our grandparents Claude and Cora Followell.  For the purposes of simplicity, we call our grandparents the first generation.  Our great grandparents are the second generation.  Our great great grandparents are the third generation, etc.  The story continues through 5 American generations.  The story of each generation can be seen by pressing the tabs at the top of the page.
